Design staff at ZURB created our website pro bono. Thanks to their exceptional talent and hard work, our new site was up an running in less than two weeks!

Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture is using Talking Books to complement one of their extension programs.

Ghana’s Health Service is creating content to disseminate information to rural communities in the Upper West Region.

West African students from Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT are helping to further develop our technology. The goal of this partnership is to improve software in the short-term and build West Africa’s capacity for technology development over the long-term.

Students at Ghana’s University of Development Studies research and record local content for our programs. They also help with our impact evaluations and with usability testing.

University of Michigan’s Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Department is collaborating with us on ways to dramatically reduce the energy requirements and unit cost of our Talking Books. With their help, we expect to reach our $10 price target by mid-2011.

  • Adeel Ahmad

    Adeel Ahmad is the founder of Proletarian Design, an engineering and design consulting firm. He brings over 10 years of hardware and software experience developing products from idea to market in professional audio, consumer electronics, web 2.0 and social media for companies ranging from Hasbro to Digidesign to shopseen.com. He holds a BASc in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

  • John Fedorjaka

    John is the president of Fedcor Design, a product development and sourcing company located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from RIT, and has over 20 years of product design and manufacturing experience with companies including Eastman Kodak, Johnson & Johnson and Sony-Ericsson. John’s background allows him to provide mechanical design support, as well as follow-up by sourcing individual components or assemblies.
