Help Us Deliver Life-Saving Health Knowledge and Farming Skills

Literacy Bridge focuses its work in Ghana’s Upper West Region – an area noted for extreme poverty and illiteracy – with close to 600,000 people living in its remote rural areas.

Literacy Bridge has been successfully helping farmers improve their crop yields through our Talking Books, and we’re now also outreaching to mothers and children. There are more than 200 villages in the Upper West Region, where the need for the Talking Book Program is the greatest. The cost of bringing this program into a village is only $5,000, about $5 per person.

Generous donors have made it possible for Literacy Bridge to bring our Talking Book Program into each of the villages marked below in green. Your generous gift will enable the families in the villages marked below in yellow to learn basic health measures that will help them prevent and overcome preventable diseases, like diarrhea and malaria. They will also be able to learn best practices in cultivating and boosting the yield of nutritious crops in order to feed their children and keep them healthy. Help bring hope and promise to the people in each village for a better life. Donate today.
